Domaine Rossignol-Trapet Beaune Premier Cru Les Teurons 2008

Well protected from the winds, Les Teurons is a small and warm climat, one of the best of Beaune village, from deep soil and easy ground, it would seem, to grow.
Nome omen, in old French, means round earth.
Here, the domaine, owns a plot of over 1 hectare.

Dark color, very concentrated - not the usual Pinot Noir – with a nose smelling cinnamon and captivates so much winy and fruity freshness, mostly played about the cherry and small forest fruits - raspberry, cassis and strawberry - than on the minerality, at this stage, rather introverted.

Just wait a little bit and the mineral figure balances the "weight" of the fruit. Pleasant for smoothness tannic, as well as for the charm of a mouth, moving along the fruit-minerality axis, giving amplitude to sips of limited acidity.

Warm closing, a slight debt about extension, with net spicy echoes.

Jeaunaux-Robin Champagne Grande Tradition Extra Brut n.v.

An honest champagne, coming from this small maison of rm, in biodynamic conversion at Talus-Saint-Prix, in the Sézannais region, about 30 km. south-west of Epernay.

It is a blanc d'assemblage - 60 Pinot Meunier, 30 Pinot Noir and 10 Chardonnay - pulled in about six thousand bottles, vineyards 40 years old, vinification by steel, vitrified cement and fûts de chêne, three years on the lees.

A gently fresh nose of vanilla and brioche, floral cues, hints of citrus and honey, discreet mineral step.

The olfactory gait you try it again on the palate, confirming freshness and droiture. The perlage is not so thin, for sips offering refreshing lemon and grapefruit sensations, well integrated into an advanced mineral weave.
Contagious drink, by fleeting persistence, with slight echoes of pastry.

Simple, but correct, even in the (small) price.
