Vietti Barbera D’Alba Vigna Vecchia Scarrone 2013

An interesting Barbera, with certain weight, from the eponymous vineyard, located just below the cellar, in Castiglione Falletto village.

A fresh smell profile, classic and compelling, with dark fruit, from cherry to blackberry, from plum to raspberry, with a light floral connotation, recalling a beautiful violet.
Crisp spicy touch, with nuances of cinnamon and black pepper.
A little bit of vanilla - I was waiting for, consciously, much more, I was prepared - and that's for me always good news.

Compact and muscular on the palate, but with balance, thanks to a strong acidity, that replies blow for blow, while continuing affinity with the olfactory register, gaining either about intensity of aromas and never losing the alcohol control.
Fresh and prolonged final, with effective return of black cherry, spice and a hint of vanilla.
